Nigerian man recounts how his wife allegedly got him jailed in Dubai

A Facebook user, Mazi Ojoto, has recounted his ordeal with his wife who he tried all his best to bring to Dubai. According to him, he said he brought his Igbo wife from Nigeria to Dubai only for her to report him to the police, claiming he molested her. He was later arrested and jailed. Ojoto decided to recounted this sad experience on social media after another Facebook user, Pat Achuks, described the recent marriage of another Nigerian man to an Asian-looking woman as "marriage of inconvenience" "Marriage of inconvenience black man will never be accepted no matter how he tried by whites that boy is playing with fire believe me u will hear his cry based on experiences white women no be mai mai o" , Pat Achuks wrote. Canadian, American abducted in Kaduna, 2 policemen killed

An American and a Canadian were kidnapped in Kaduna - They were reportedly on their way to Abuja when the attack was carried out - Two police officers providing security for them were killed by the abductors A Canadian and an American have reportedly been kidnapped by unknown gunmen in Kaduna resulting in the death of two police officers. EBONYI: Lassa Fever Resurfaces, Claims 2 Doctors, 1 Nurse, Others Hospitalised

Lassa fever outbreak in Abakaliki, Ebonyi State, has claimed some healthcare providers at the Federal Teaching Hospital, Abakaliki (FETHA). Sources said that two doctors and a nurse died at the weekend while some persons are in the intensive care unit of the hospital. CBN Orders bank's to suspend account's linked with fraud

The Central Bank of Nigeria has ordered the Deposit Money Banks in the country to suspend the bank accounts and Bank Verification Numbers of their customers linked with any fraudulent activities. The order was contained in a framework released by the CBN to guide the banks in the operations of the BVN. The framework came barely one year after the CBN mandated all bank customers in the country to obtain their BVN. As a result of the framework, a number of the DMBs have written to their customers, informing them of the development and their readiness to suspend any account linked to any fraudulent activity. For instance, Skye Bank Plc has written to its customers, informing them that the CBN framework on the operations of the BVN had given it the right to suspend all accounts linked to fraudulent activities. Patience Jonathan loses bid to reclaim seized $5.9m

The Court of Appeal , Lagos Division, on Friday upheld the decision of the Federal High Court in Lagos , which ordered the interim forfeiture of a sum of $5. 9m found in Mrs . Patience Jonathan ’ s Skye Bank account . The appellate court , in a lead judgment by Justice Mojeed Owoade , threw out the ex -President ’ s wife ’ s appeal challenging the forfeiture of the funds to the Federal Government . It held that the appeal lacked merit. Justice Mojisola Olatoregun of the Federal High Court in Lagos had, in April last year , ordered the temporary forfeiture of the funds after the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission argued that the money was reasonably suspected to be proceeds of fraud . A Nigerian - British male fashion model, Harry Uzoka , has been stabbed to death near his home in what is believed to be a robbery which went wrong . 55 Feared To Be Killed By Herdsmen In Taraba

At least 55 people have been killed by Fulani herdsmen in Lau Local Government Area of Taraba State. Correspondents gathered that the invasion and attacks began during the weekend. 25 bodies were recovered and given a mass burial on Tuesday when journalists and a media assistant to the governor, Bala Dan Abu, visited the affected area. Policemen and soldiers are currently patrolling the area. “Herdsmen are killing people in Lau, my state,” Governor Darius Ishaku told The Nation on Tuesday night on the telephone. The #EndSARS #ReformPoliceNG campaign, a coalition demanding the scrapping of the Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS) of the Nigeria Police Force, has announced that it has recorded 250 cases of abuse by SARS operatives between December and January.

The cases, according to the coalition, are in form of abduction, wanton extortion, torture and harassment of law-abiding, unlawful detention and random killing of innocent Nigerians by SARS operatives.  The coalition made this known in a statement issued on Wednesday. Fulani headsmen dies after fighting with female farmer's

A Fulani herdsman, Muhammed Haruna, has allegedly died after he had a fight with a female farmer in Delta State. The police spokesperson in the state, Andrew Aniamaka told Punch that the woman was now at large. The herder died from injuries he sustained after being stoned by a female farmer. According to the report, the herder and his colleague drove their cattle into the yet-to-be indentified woman’s farm in the Upper Agbarho area of Ughelli last week. The woman and the herders, according to the report, were engaged in a stone-throwing match after a heated argument. It was gathered that the herdsman, a 15-year-old identified as Muhammed was hit by one of the stones and immediately collapsed on the scene of the confrontation before he was rushed to a private hospital where he was pronounced dead by doctors.
